1. What is the origin of evil?
Origin: God. In Isaiah 45:7, God said, " ...I create evil .. "
Here is that verse more precisely from the Hebrew:
“Making light and creating darkness; making peace and creating evil. I Yahweh doing every one of these things.”
Many have difficulty with the idea that the Good God could create evil. The Hebrew word for evil is broad and it is used often.
The word could mean calamity, and many of its synonyms, as well as evil and many of its synonyms.
Believing that verse literally, I believe that God created evil and everything else meant by that word.
It seems assumed by most that the Good God could never create evil …
that is a wrong assumption … those who say it do not know what God created when He created evil.
The point here is that God revealed both … both that He is Good and that He created evil … so we believe them both.
Logically, since God is also Almighty, if there were any other source/origin of evil,
God would be able to defeat that source and eliminate its evil.
Our world and our reality is created for us by God alone. There is no other Creator in our reality.
